Clean Lines Without the Setup

Clean Lines Without the Setup

This is what you reach for after the major painting’s done — when it’s just about details, sharp lines, and keeping your space dialed. The pens fill easily using the included syringe, and once loaded, the brush tip gives you surgical-level precision for tight corners, baseboards, trim, or any spot that catches light. No tape, no tray, no cleanup. Just twist, press, and drag. It’s the only way I’ve found to maintain painted baseboards without pulling the paint cans and drop cloths every time my kid runs his toys into them. I filled both pens with my trim color and keep both stored in my paint bucket. They don’t dry out if capped right. — Curated by Jaded John | #OrderlyCleanDesign

I purchased the Slobproof Touch-Up Paint Pen – Refillable Paint Brush Pens for clients selling their home, and it was a fantastic addition to their prep work! The pen made it so easy to quickly touch up scuffs and marks on walls without the mess of traditional paint. The refillable feature is a bonus, making it a cost-effective and eco-friendly option.

My clients loved how simple and convenient it was to use, and it saved them a lot of time in getting their home ready for showings. It’s a great tool for anyone preparing a home for sale—quick, effective, and easy to use. Highly recommend!

These are great! Easily filled and easy to use with no mess. The lid snaps on tightly to reduce the chance of leakage. The quality is really good. The size is perfect to fit in your “junk drawer” to be handy and ready to use. We’re using one of ours for our kitchen cabinets. Sometimes the cabinets get a little nick or ding.

They are a little tricky to fill, but I got that figured out. They are easy to use and if you’re careful, they can last longer than just a few uses. I like these for quick touch ups.

Because it was inconvenient to open a paint can and use a brush for a small touch-up I tended to wait until I had a number of dings to repair. Then, invariably I would forget a spot or two and I never really kept up with the repairs. However, now the Slobproof pens are so convenient that I can touch up a paint issue as soon as I see it. Clean up is easy in the sink because the amount of paint on the brush is minimal. I keep three pens ready with my different colors including one for white trim. This really is a clever product that works very well.

This is a really nifty tool.  It allows you to touch up walls with no mess. It’s a very clever idea. I just wish it cost a little bit less. It comes with two types of syringes one is used to withdraw paint from the can. This syringe can be reused. The other syringes, I believe, or single use. It takes a little bit to get used to using the applicator syringes, but they work really well.

5 stars for a great idea for touching up areas in your house. 1 star because they are single use. You can only fill them once.

These are so great! I just finished painting and putting carpet in. Then I noticed I needed to touch up some spots. These worked great and I didn’t have to worry about getting paint on the new carpet. They worked really well, I was very impressed!

I recently got the Slobproof Refillable Touch-Up Paint Pen (pack of 2) to fix some scuffs and scratches on my walls, and I’ve got to say, it’s been a game-changer for small touch-up jobs around the house. As someone who’s not exactly a pro at painting, I was looking for something easy to use, and this product delivered.

First off, filling the pens with paint was pretty straightforward. They come with a little syringe that you use to suck up your leftover wall paint and load it into the pen. I was worried it might be messy, but it wasn’t too bad—just a little fiddly to get the paint in without air bubbles. Once filled, the pen’s twist-control tip made it super easy to dab paint exactly where I needed it, like on a couple of nail holes in my living room and some scuffs on the door trim. No drips, no splatters, which is a big win for me since I usually make a mess with regular brushes.

The paint went on smoothly, and the color matched perfectly since I used the same paint as my walls. I touched up a spot on my shiplap, and when a friend came over, she couldn’t even tell where I’d fixed it! It blends in that well. The pens are also easy to clean—just rinse the brush tip under water, and you’re good to go for the next use. I like that I can keep them in a drawer for quick fixes without digging out a paint can and brush.

One small downside is that refilling can feel a bit tricky if you’re not careful, and I’ve read some folks had issues with the pen leaking if not sealed right. I didn’t have that problem, but I made sure to follow the instructions closely. Also, they claim the paint stays fresh for up to 7 years inside the pen, which sounds awesome, but I haven’t had it long enough to test that.

Overall, these pens are super handy for quick touch-ups on walls or furniture, and they’re great for small arts and crafts projects too. For about $20 for the pair, I think they’re worth it for anyone who wants to keep their home looking fresh without the hassle of traditional painting tools. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone who needs an easy, mess-free way to fix up little dings around the house.

Those of you who have been kind enough to read some of my reviews will know that Duncurin has been on something of a journey over the past few years. My ,long suffering, wife used to call me half-a job whenever I attempted any DIY projects as the job in hand either wasn’t finished or it was to a poor standard. Volunteering at our local church to tidy the grounds encouraged me to take on new skills like fence building, paving as did the wonderful array of tools, saws, drills etc etc that Amazon were kind enough to offer me to review and the vital 3 ingredients – practise, practise and practise. I never thought I’d write this but increasing DIY-competence has its own problems as one now sees areas that could be done better.
Mrs Duncurin has had the decorators in this week and without doubt they’ve done a great job. Duncurin couldn’t help but notice ,however, that one or two lines of colour demarcation were not as straight as, well, Duncurin might aspire to. These are maybe ‘picky’ things that days gone by I wouldn’t even notice.
I wasn’t sure how to correct this quickly without making things worse (my party piece). I decided to try these fillable touch up pens which were kindly on offer in BF Amazon sale.
They are quite easy to use and can be flushed, rinsed and re-used. Most vitally they are filled with one’s own paint, so that with care a good match can be achieved; not just for touch up, damaged areas but hopefully my intended use , to attempt to put in some fine and straight lines. I decided to use some masking tape to aid my feverish shaking hands as I set to work. It goes without saying that the choice of this should be the expensive, low tack stuff not the cheap stuff or you really will have your partner pressing the solicitor’s speed dial button. Also the trick is to apply the tape firmly but accurately. One can then activate the paint pen with a screw tightening motion at the base and away you go. As the colour difference was quite marked I needed two coats and this also allowed me to ‘build’ the coats when the first was dry of course. One then needs to peel off the tape as soon as – rather than leave it on too long, which is another of Duncurin’s party pieces.
Please take a look at the two photos: before and after. Not bad ??
One or two more points, if I may. Of course once it’s masked up one could simply use a fine brush dipped into the paint but the advantage of the paint pen is that it has a cap which can be deployed while you wait for the first coat to dry and you’ll be ready to swing into instant action.
Also with the paint pen, one has a fixed type of brush but in truth it seems to work ok and has a nice paint loading/fineness/accuracy balance that Duncurin suspects will work in a variety of instances not just fine-lining.
The only downside is that they are a teeny bit expensive when not in a BF promotion – but then of course what price a good finish – and I cant believe I’m writing that either. Good luck.
PS – I’ve been trying but cannot find a way to reuse them. The ratchet once screwed fully in won’t then disengage – so this would make non-reusable pens not in BF much more expensive.
